About Rias Bajas
Since 1985, Rías Bajas has brought the taste of Galicia to the south of Gran Canaria. The marisquería is in the Edificio Playa del Sol on Avenida de Tirajana, right in the centre of Playa del Inglés. After four decades it’s a regular address for both island residents and visitors who come back year after year. Its formula hasn’t changed: top-quality ingredients, traditional recipes and attentive, personal service.
Seafood is the speciality: lobster, spider crab, clams, razor clams and goose barnacles from the Atlantic, prepared fresh to order. Fresh fish includes sea bass, turbot, monkfish and hake, cooked “a la espalda”, oven-baked or in a salt crust, and the catch of the day is always on the board.
The Galician classics are here too: pulpo a la gallega, lacón con grelos, homemade empanada and caldeirada. For meat lovers there are prime rib steak, lamb and sirloin. The rice dishes are made for sharing, including rice with lobster, black rice and fideuà. Desserts are homemade.
The wine cellar includes Albariño, Godello and Mencía, as well as other reds and prosecco, and the staff are happy to suggest a wine pairing.
Rías Bajas also hosts events and celebrations, such as weddings, communions, birthdays, company lunches and Christmas dinners. Takeaway is available for pickup (no home delivery), and gift vouchers can be bought online. Allergen information is available; mention any allergies when booking and again when you arrive.
